Encapsulate SR ..A New Concept in Carpet Cleaning

1. What is Dynachem’s concept of Encapsulation ?

  1. Our concept of encapsulation is for the carpet fiber to be encapsulated with a polymer barrier film. When our product is applied to the fiber, it has a low surface tension surfactant to preferentially coat the fiber and in doing so, it tries to displace any soil particles adhering to the fiber. The SR version adds StainResist properties to the carpet fiber.

Sometimes this will remove the particle and sometimes additional agitation must be applied. This could be a bonnet, pad, cylindrical brush, extraction process or vacuum cleaner brush.

The end result is to maintain the higher appearance level as long as possible.

     2. Does this "Encapsulation" leave crystals in the Carpet ?

  1. NO WAY! This technology does not leave crystals in the Carpet. It does use a film-forming polymer to coat the carpet fiber. This results in a stainresist/polymer protective coating which prevents soil from adhering to the fiber.

     3. Does this stainresist/polymer coating inhibit wicking?

  1. Yes. It does inhibit wicking of stains during the drying process.

This is a benefit, especially with Olefin carpet fiber.

Coffee and tea stains have significantly less staining tendencies.

     4. Can the Dynachem Encapsulate SR be used with the Extraction method ?

  1. Yes; we pioneered the encapsulation process for Extraction. The Encapsulate SR is presprayed with hot water and allowed 10-15 minutes dwell time. Then the carpet is extracted with a hot water rinse.

5.Does the rinse-extraction remove the polymer film from the fiber ?

  1. No; the film has an affinity for the fiber. This allows it to be rinsed with hot water without removing the majority of the polymer film.

6.Are there any hazardous ingredients in Dynachem Encapsulate SR ?

  1. No hazardous ingredients as defined by OSHA. Also, it is NOT COMBUSTIBLE.
on the MSDS. It has a pH of 7.5 and even meets California’s OSHA air quality (CARB) requirements for a carpet prespray.
  2.      7. What is the recommended procedure for maintaining a Commercial Carpet ?

    1. (A) Assuming that the carpet is very soiled, it should be presprayed with Dynachem Encapsulate SR and then extraction-rinsed with the hottest water available. This insures the initial soil load is removed.

For the next few cleaning cycles, it should be presprayed and then cleaned with a bonnet, pad or brush system to maintain the appearance.

           8. Where is the DC Encapsulate SR best suited for residential cleaning ?

      1. The best applications are when the customer has purchased a light-color carpet and has moderate to heavy traffic. The use of DC Encapsulate SR will maintain the appearance and stain resistance of the traffic lanes for a longer period of time.

Olefin carpets will also benefit from the reduced wicking. Less wicking will also reduce the number of redos for the carpet cleaning contractor.

           9. What are the Strengths of the Dynachem Encapsulate SR ?

      1. It has excellent cleaning ability for normal soil loads and has shown unusual ability for removing coffee and soft-drink stains without reappearance. ASTM lab testing has shown resoiling to be less than uncleaned new carpet.

           10. What are the Limitations of the Dynachem Encapsulate SR?

        A. Heavy food grease or petroleum oils will require a prespray with a high level of solvent to emulsify the grease or oils. The DC Encapsulate SR can then be boosted with a 100% Citrus Solvent such as our Citra-Solv to aid in this process without affecting the resoil parameters.
